Our Technology

Tonometry

At Valley Ranch Eye Care we believe in comfort and our office is a no-puff zone. There is no need to worry about going to the eye doctor to get your eyes puffed. We use the iCare Tonometer and it is a diagnostic tool used to measure the pressure of your eyes (Intraocular Pressure-IOP).

Corneal Topography

We use this machine to measure the curvature of the front of the eye (Cornea). This tool creates a map of your cornea that tells us the high and low spots which allows us to get a better fit when wearing contact lenses.

Digital Phoropter

Have you ever gone to the eye doctor who told you that your prescription changed but didn’t show you the difference? We use a digital phoropter and with one click of a button, you can instantly see that change.

Anterior Imaging

While using a slit lamp, we use a camera to show you the anatomy of the eye. It also helps us look at if there is any scarring, allergies, dryness, and even Demodex, a tiny mite that lives on and around the eyelashes.

Posterior Imaging

We utilize the Optomap to take a picture of the back of the eye. A picture is worth a thousand words and you will be able to see the inside of your own eyes. This picture can help us detect and diagnose diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular degeneration, and other retinal conditions.

Visual Field

This machine is a diagnostic tool that we use to detect any defects in your central and peripheral fields. This tool can help us detect the signs of glaucoma, brain tumors, and even toxicity from certain medications.

At Valley Ranch Eye Care, we use all these tests routinely to render the best care, because we truly believe that your sight is precious and worth preserving.
